OUR
STORY

2002

Our Big Shed story starts in the Barossa, back in the year of 2002. Two loose units had the idea to brew a few cheeky beers for their mates to share, and before they knew it their shed was holding a lot more than just the cars. As mountains of brewing equipment, tools, hardware and the Scalextric track filled the shed, a brewing love affair began.

2003

Over time, and more than just one pint, the beer started getting tastier and the hobby took on new life. After a year spent dreaming instead of doing, crunch time was approaching, and the boys took the plunge into professional craft brewing.

2013

A new chapter began when the micro brewery moved from the old farmers shed to a rented warehouse in Royal Park, where Big Shed leapt to life. Countless hours were spent refining recipes and designs, before Big Shed’s first full scale beer, a batch of the FrankenBROWN was crafted. The FrankenBROWN remains a well-loved Big Shed brew to this day, joined in our core range by F-Yeah, Californicator and Kol Schisel.

2014

Another year down the line and Big Shed keeps getting bigger. September saw the launch of our tasting bar and kitchen in Royal Park, comprising 6 taplines and hearty finger food to enjoy with a pint. Since then the experiments have just kept brewing, as our community of Shed Heads keeps growing.

2019

While we never thought we would outgrow our Brandwood St home, by 2018 it was clear we had. Work began on finding our new location and we ended up with land just down Old Port Road. Works began and in December 2019 we moved in. More room for punters, tanks and pinball machines, our new home has all the things we wanted in our brewery’s next iteration.

AND
WE’RE STILL
GROWING...
